Velvet Voice — Terms of Use

Last updated 25 September 2026 · This page is also the app's End User Licence Agreement

These terms are the agreement between you and Velvet Voice. They apply when you use the app on any device and when you use the website. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. By creating an account you are telling us that you do.

The short version. You must be 18. One person, one account. What you record stays yours, and we only hold the licence we need to deliver it to the people you sent it to. Some accounts are not people and say so on their face. Plans are a fixed term and do not renew themselves — nothing charges you again unless you buy again. Money that bought nothing comes back; credits already spent do not.

1. Who you are dealing with

Velvet Voice (“we”, “us”) operates this service from India. You can reach a person at velvetvoice.admin@gmail.com. What we do with your personal data is set out separately in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement.

2. You must be 18

This is an adults-only service. You must be 18 or over to hold an account, and you must not help anyone under 18 hold one. We ask your age at sign-up and refuse anyone below it. If we learn an account belongs to a minor we delete the account and its content without notice and without refund. Our standards on child safety, and how to report a concern, are at Child Safety Standards.

3. Your account

You can delete your account yourself at any time, from inside the app. It is not reversible. See Deleting your account.

4. How to behave here

The rules are short because they are not negotiable. You must not:

Contact details typed into free-text fields are masked automatically. That is a safety measure, not a challenge; working around it to move someone off the platform before they have chosen to go is a breach of these terms.

5. What you record stays yours

You keep every right you already have in your voice notes, photographs, and text. You give us a limited licence — non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free — to store, process, transcode, and show that content to the people the app's own rules allow, for as long as you keep it on the service. That licence exists so we can deliver a voice note to the person you sent it to and show your profile to somebody browsing. It is not a licence to advertise with your face or your voice, and we do not sell your content to anyone.

When you delete something, or when a conversation ends, the licence ends with it. Where the app destroys content rather than hiding it, that is real: when either side leaves or blocks a conversation, the messages and the audio behind them are destroyed and neither side can recover them. A report already filed keeps its own copy of what it was about, so that erasing a thread cannot be used to destroy evidence of abuse.

You are telling us you have the right to post what you post — that it is yours, that anyone in it agreed to be in it, and that showing it here breaks no law.

6. Accounts marked as AI

Some accounts in this app are not people. Every one of them carries a visible AI marker on its profile and on its card, and it is there before you say anything. If you message an account carrying that marker, your message and the recent thread are sent to our AI provider to compose a reply. Conversations with real members are never sent to an AI provider. If you would rather no message of yours was processed that way, do not message an account carrying the marker. This is set out in full in section 4 of the Privacy Policy.

7. Other members are strangers

We do not verify identity. A verified phone number proves that somebody held that number, and nothing else — not a name, not an age, not a photograph, not an intention. We do not run background checks and we cannot know who is on the other end of a conversation.

You are responsible for your own safety, online and in person. Meet in public. Tell somebody where you are going. Never send money to somebody you have met here, whatever the story is. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local police first — we are an app; they are not.

8. Money

What is sold

Two different things, deliberately kept apart. A plan (Plus or Gold) buys standing and visibility for a fixed term. Credits are spent per act. Women are never charged per act, and that is not a setting we turn on and off. Prices are shown in the app in Indian rupees, inclusive of applicable taxes, and every act that costs something quotes its price before you commit to it.

Plans do not renew themselves

A plan is a fixed term — 30 days or 365 days — bought once. Nothing renews automatically and nothing is charged to you again unless you buy again. There is no subscription to cancel: if you do nothing, the plan simply ends on its date. Buying a term while one is still running adds the time to the end of it, and a purchase never lowers a tier you are still holding.

Credits go stale if unused

Credits are not money and have no cash value. Where the expiry is switched on, a balance lapses after a period of not being topped up — 180 days by default — and you are warned in the app before it does. Any grant, purchased or given, restarts that clock for the whole balance.

Refunds

Purchases are processed by Razorpay; card, UPI and bank details are entered on Razorpay's systems and never reach ours.

Where you bought through Apple's In-App Purchase instead of Razorpay, the refund is Apple's to make, not ours: request it through Apple. Nothing here takes away a right you have under Indian consumer law.

9. Moderation, suspension, and ending this

We may remove content, limit an account, or close it where we reasonably believe these terms have been broken — immediately and without notice for anything in section 4 involving a minor, a non-consensual image, or a credible threat. Where the matter is less grave we will normally tell you what the problem was.

You can end this agreement at any time by deleting your account. We may end it by closing your account, and will tell you we have unless telling you would put somebody at risk or we are forbidden to. Sections 5, 10, 11 and 13 survive the end of this agreement.

10. What we do not promise

The service is provided as is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, or free of faults, or that it will keep every feature it has today — features are added and retired, and a feature you paid a plan for may change during that term. We do not promise you will meet anyone, or that anyone you meet is who they say they are.

Velvet Voice does not offer voice or video calling, and no part of this service places a call.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for anything another member does or says to you, or for anything that happens when you meet somebody in person. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury caused by our negligence, or fraud.

11. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction. If a provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stands.

12. If you are using the iOS app

This section is required by Apple and applies to the app downloaded from the App Store.

13. Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially we update the date at the top and, where the change affects what you pay or what you may do, say so in the app. Continuing to use the service after that is how you accept the change. If you do not accept it, delete your account.

14. Contact

Anything in these terms you do not understand, or think is wrong: velvetvoice.admin@gmail.com. More on getting help is at Support.
