Deleting your Velvet Voice account

You can have your account and the data attached to it deleted at any time, for any reason, and you do not have to tell us why.
The quickest way is to do it yourself: delete your account now. You will need your handle or email, your password, and access to the mailbox the account was registered with — we email a confirmation code before anything is destroyed.

How to ask. Send an email to privacy@mescomp.online from the address your account is registered with, with the subject Delete my account, and include your handle.
Sending it from the registered address is how we know the request is yours. If you cannot reach that mailbox any more, write from any address and say so — we will verify you another way rather than refuse.
What happens then
Through the form above it is immediate. By email, we confirm the request and then delete the account — we aim to complete it within 7 days and will not take longer than 30.
What is deleted
- Your account: handle, email address, password hash, age, gender and date of birth.
- The hash of your phone number.
- Your profile, including the sketch of you, your boundaries and your figure.
- Every voice recording you made — intros, messages, board posts, bottle messages — and the audio files themselves, not just the rows pointing at them.
- Every photo you uploaded.
- Your stored location.
- Your conversations and connections.
- Push-notification tokens and trusted devices, so no device of yours can be reached again.
What is kept, and for how long
Two things survive a deletion, and both are deliberate:
- Payment records — the order identifier, the amount and the date. Indian tax and accounting law requires a business to keep records of what it was paid. These carry no profile content and are kept for as long as the law requires, then destroyed.
- Reports made about your account by other members, where they concern harassment or safety. If deleting an account erased the reports against it, deletion would be a way to wipe the record and start again. These are kept in a moderation store, separate from the app, and are not used for anything else.
Deleting less than everything
You do not have to delete the account to get rid of content. Inside the app you can leave any conversation, which destroys the messages and the audio on both sides — there is no "delete for me" here — and you can remove a photo or re-record a voice intro at any time.
